The tasting will begin with the youngest vintage of our Prima Pietra, the 2020. In the glass it is clear and lively. The nose is broad and persistent with notes of red berry fruits well blended with delicate spicy notes and a pleasant balsamic note. In the mouth it is complex, with great extractive richness, rich in soft, thick and velvety tannins.
The next vintage of Prima Pietra is 2019, characterizes the wine with Balance and Longevity, but also with incredible Elegance. Complex and persistent, fine and harmonious, with great extractive richness. Soft and velvety tannins, excellent longevity.
The third wine is the Prima Pietra 2018. In the glass it is clear and lively. The nose is broad and persistent with notes of red berry fruits well blended with delicate spicy notes and a pleasant balsamic note. In the mouth it is complex, with great extractive richness, rich in soft, thick and velvety tannins.
The fourth wine is the Prima Pietra 2016, described by the winemaker as a perfect vintage. Rather regular seasonal trend, slightly early vegetative resumption, but, in contrast to neighboring areas, delayed harvest thanks to a cool September and excellent temperature excursions that brought slow and complete ripening. Prima Pietra 2016 reintroduces this great vintage with energy. Great varietal expressions, excellent structures and incredible balance.
The fifth wine is Prima Pietra 2014, characterized by an exceptional expression of the typical terroir of the Tuscan coast. The nose is elegant, with crisp, fresh fruit – mainly red berry. It has a pleasant drinkability with an interesting verticality the acidity is refreshing with soft and enveloping tannins.
Last, but not least, the Prima Pietra 2012, a structured and elegant wine, fruit of the great potential of its terroir. The nose is broad and persistent with notes of red berry fruits well blended with delicate spicy notes. In the mouth it is complex, with great extractive richness, rich in soft, thick and velvety tannins.
